Freedom in my Dream
高二(9)班  姚瑶

As the whole world has its boundaries, limits and freedom coexist in our life. I don’t expect complete freedom, which is impossible. I simply have a dream that supports my life.
I dream that one day, I could escape from the deep sea of thick schoolbooks and lead my own life. With my favorite fictions, I lie freely on the green grass, smelling the spring, listening to the wind singing, breathing the fresh and cool air and dissolve my soul in nature at last. Simple and short enjoyment can bring me great satisfaction.
I dream that one day the adults could throw their prejudice of comic and cartoon away. They could keep a lovely heart that can share sorrow and happiness with us while watching cartoon or doing personal things. That’s the real communication of heart to heart.
I have the belief that my dreams should come true. I am looking forward to some day coming when I am like a proud eagle, which flies to the blue and vast sky.

Journey to Australia
高二(6) 周 越

Australia is one of the famous Oceanian country. The country is famous for its wool production and seashore tour. As the climate there is warm and comfortable, many people spend vocations there every year. I’m a super fan of water entertainment, so I choose it as my destination.
In Australia, the sky is bluer than blue, the clouds are whiter than white, all the local people enjoy an optimistic and active life. They also show their kindness and enthusiasm to the tourists.
The first step should be Sydney Opera which is among the most brilliant and splendid architectures in the world. Many world-class plays are put on in it .The surface and shape of it is like a seashell with glory decorations inside.
Then Melbourne is a good choice to be as the next step. In Melbourne, skin screen is a must to take with as the sunshine is upset and may burn your skin. The most attractive thing to me is the Australia Open, which is one of the biggest world-class tennis competition. Many great players such as Roddick Federer and its local player Hewitt etc. gather to compete. It’s really a feast for the eyes.
Australia is also home to one of the most challenging and exciting surfing and diving projects. As we know, it is always called  “a country riding on the back of sheep”. From the interesting saying ,we can know something about the rich wool-production country. If you love animals, kangaroos and kaolas are good company to you .
So don’t forget Australia when you plan a trip.

Identifying Chips
高二(3)李 滢

No bigger than a grain of rice and embedded beneath a person’s skin, the computer identifying chips will be the future ID card someday.
ID cards are easy to counterfeit while the chips are extremely hard to remove or fake. In addition, the chip has no power supply; rather, it has a millimeter-long magnetic coil that is activated when a scanning device is running across the skin above it. A tiny transmitter on the chip sends out the data. But without the scanning device the chip can’t be read. By limiting the use of scanners can people control what the technology is used for. airports, nuclear plants and other high-security facilities to avoid the problem of negligence on the part of security guards. Other uses include satellite tracking of an individual’s energy movement to the storage data such as medical records. So it’s good news for those who are afraid of being kidnapped, requiring paramedical services or suffering from serious allergies. Besides, with chips which can be implanted into animals being made, owners can find the lost pets with ease.
Have you lost your ID card? No, it’s still in your body.

A busy month
二班 严 扬

It’s in April now. This mouth may be the busiest one during half of my high school life. There are some arrangements for the month below:
April.2nd      The Composition Contest for Chucai Cup
April.9th      Biology
April.17th     Hope Cup
April.26th & 27th    the Mid term examinations
During the whole month        finish a plan for the competition of class meetings
Besides these, I also have to swim in the sea of homework, and I’m not willing to give up any precious time for sleeping at the same time. So I felt that days has suddenly became short. Complaints came almost every day at first, but now I got used to this kind of lifestyle. Maybe busy life is suitable for me.
When I got up in the morning, I started thinking about the things I had to finish. Then I would be afraid of wasting a second so I should finish the plans one be one. At last, I would feel tired. Sleeping is more important than the unfinished things. I went to bed and slept soundly soon. All day I only do two things-working and resting, thus I have no time to go off into wild flights of fancy. “Never trouble troubles until trouble troubles you!” Now I think that I have no time to trouble troubles except some difficulties of my wok trouble me!
In another way, maybe a busy life can prove that I have abilities to do lots of things in many fields. Please don’t laugh at me. When feeling tired, this thought can always
Maybe schoolmates in Grade 3 will look down upon these busy experiences of mine. But during the busier lives of yours, you can remind yourselves like me that never trouble troubles.

Travel to the forest
高二(6)王 聪

Have you ever been fed up with the boring life in the city? Should you be tired of the crowded roads and endless noises, you might want to have a glimpse of the primary forest with me.
As soon as you open the mysterious door of the forest, you may ask,“ Have I entered the palace or the paradise?” The breath-taking scenery makes you forget everything but exploring what the forest has to offer. With tens of thousands of trees surrounding you, straight or winding, tall or short , you feel like floating on the ocean of green.
All kinds of fragrant flowers lie peaceful and shy under the leaves. Take a close look at them , and you can even see the fresh drops of water ,which makes the flowers look like beautiful girls who have just had a bath. The most enjoyable thing is to feel the thick fog among the whole forest, which makes the view of the living creatures disappear at times.
When the sun comes up, the fog rises at once .The dreaming image is then replaced by the lively scene. A wide variety of birds are singing happily in the trees. Lots of little animals are running busily across the paths. Wander in the forest, you will have the feeling of returning to nature.
Well, in addition to enjoying the scenery on the ground, keep an eye out for the sky! The clear blue with pure white will give your eyes a feast .

Never Be Lost in Your Dream
——After Reading <Madame Bovary>

八班   孙扬

I chose to read the novel <Madame Bovary> this winter vacation. I did not mean to read this one, because the author is Gustave Flaubert, a Frenchman, so the English version can’t be the original. I think the purpose for which our English teacher wants us to read the English novel is to let us experience what is real English. So reading a French novel in English is the same as reading an English novel in Chinese. I remember one sentence in our English textbook like this: No matter how well a poem is translated, something of the spirit of the original is lost. So is a novel. What a pity that I could not read an English original!
I read the gist of the story when I was in primary school. It is a story of how a beautiful woman dies. Madame Bovary is beautiful but her husband is not handsome and romantic. He is a doctor. He loves his wife with all his heart, but he does not know how to give her the kind of love she wants. Not being satisfied, Madame Bovary starts to find a lover who is both handsome and romantic. And she finds Léon at last. She spends all the money her father and her husband give her on her lover, and lives the kind of life she has always dreamed of, paying no attention to the fact that all the people in town regard her as a vampire. Happy days are always short however. Léon leaves her at last. And her heart breaks in pieces. There is no other way except to die. What a pity that such a beautiful lady dies in such a way!
I hated Madame Bovary so much when I read the gist many years ago, because Monsieur Bovary loves her so much but she treats him in such a rude way in return, in spite of the fact that she used to study in the convent. Each one in the marriage should fulfil the vows they swore at the wedding ceremony. One madame should be staunch to her husband, no matter how boring it is to be with him. Anyway he is the one you chose when you want to get married. That was the opinions I had at that time.
But after reading the novel, I think Madame Bovary has her own embarrassments which are hard to mention, too. Monsieur Bovary only loves her beautiful and distinguished appearance. No one in this family cares about what she thinks. No one asks about her feelings. No one wants to listen to her aspirations. What a lonely lady! The most important thing is that the life after marriage does not answer to her dream. The only feeling she has is disappointing. It is hard for a lady to bear.
Every girl has her own dream, her own ideal marriage life. Let’s look at Madame Bovary’s dream. When she was in the convent, she read some novels. “They were all love, lovers, sweethearts, persecuted ladies fainting in lonely pavilions, postilions killed at every stage, horses ridden to death on every page, somber forests, heartaches , vows, sobs, tears and kisses, little skiffs by moonlight, nightingales in shaky groves, ‘gentlemen’ brave as lions, gentle as lambs, virtuous as no one ever was, always well dressed, and weeping like fountains.”  “She thought sometimes that, after all, this was the happiest time of her life-the honeymoon, as people called it. To taste the full sweetness of it, it would have been necessary doubtless to fly to those lands with sonorous names where the days after marriage are full of laziness most suave. In post-chaises behind blue silken curtains to ride slowly up steep roads, listening to the song of the postilion reechoed by the mountains, along with the bells of goats and the muffled sound of a waterfall; at sunset on the shores of gulfs to breathe in the perfume of lemon trees; then in the evening on the villa terraces above, hand in hand to look at the stars, making plans for the future. It seemed to her that certain places on earth must bring forth happiness, as a plant peculiar to the soil that cannot thrive elsewhere. Why could not she lean over balconies in Swiss chalets, or enshrine her melancholy in a Scotch cottage, with a husband dressed in a black velvet coat with long tails, and thin shoes, a pointed hat and frills?”
She lives in the countryside before she gets married, and she hates the boring days. Perhaps the disturbance caused by the presence of Monsieur Bovary has sufficed to make her believe that she at last feels that wondrous passion which, till then, like a great bird with rose-colored wings, hung in the splendor of the skies of poesy; and now she can not think that the calm in which she lives is the happiness she has dreamed. So she changes the fade life by looking for a lover.
We always talk about the power of dream. We say that dream can be the light which leads us to the wonderland, the happy life, the unknown shore. Where there are dreams, there is progress. But Madame Bovary’s dream is horrible. It leads her to death. Her dream is not practical. It is impossible to have the kind of life she dreams of, as the princess only lives in the fairy tale. To have a dream is wonderful, but to wallow in one’s dream is dangerous, like Madame Bovary. There is an old saying : the more you hope, the more disappointed you get. Once you wallow in you dream, you will be hurt painfully if your dream cannot come true.
So ,friends, keep your minds clear and never be lost in your dream.

The Disabled Should Have Equal Rights
高二(3)朱骁龙

People who live with disabilities are always considered shameful, for it was difficult for them to manage to do the daily affairs that we take for granted. In fact, they have no differences from us expect their disabilities which are formed because of inborn deficiency or unfortunate accidents. Luckily, now we find that there is much we can do to help them, such as improving the living conditions of them.
But one day when I got to a high-grade hotel, I realized that there was still much left for us to do to provide the equal access to the disabled. As soon as I got through the door of the hotel, I found it almost impossible for the lame or the blind to enter. The glass door would keep revolving unless someone stopped it. People in wheelchairs were hardly able to stop the door and it seemed that the width of the door was not as wide as that of the wheelchair. On the other hand, the revolving door was likely to hit the arms or heads of the blind when they tried to get through. The service counter was too high for the people in wheelchairs to reach. If they wanted to seek counsel of checking in or get publicity materials, they could hardly be served as normal people. The counter as well as the phones was in so high a position that it couldn’t be reached by people in wheelchairs. Except these, the stairs were one of the inconvenient facilities for the disabled. There were no elevators or even plain passages for the lame, so that they were unable to get to another floor unless others offered help.
Every member of society has the right to a reasonable quality of life, including the disabled. As society develops, we have the responsibility to offer equal access. Only in this way are the disabled able to live productive and meaningful lives as we do.

The Tibetan Minority
高二(6)余文君

As it is known to us all, there are 55 minority groups in China, each with its traditional customs, costumes and culture. Now let’s take a look at the Tibetan Minority.
The Tibetan Minority group live in Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan and Yunnan Province. And the highest ridge in the world─beautiful and mysterious Tibet is their major habitat .
As the fertilized prairie stretches around the habitants as far as the eyes can see, most people live on animal husbandry, raising sheep, goats, cattle and growing a special kind of plant called Qingke. On account of the unique climate, people often wear warm and comfortable boots in winter, and they are always dressed in delicate robes which are made of the fur of sheep. Often they take off one sleeve of the clothes and tie it around their waists in order to work easily and use it as warm quilts at night.
Both men and women there like wearing silver ornaments, which look very mysterious and full of magical power. And they are good at singing and dancing, and the men there can have braids too. When they meet an important guest, they will present him or her a Hada, a piece of long white silk cloth to show their respect. And they will also treat the guest to a special kind of drink called Suyou Tea, which some people find hard to enjoy.
Besides, the habitants have developed both their own written and spoken languages, and the long poems they wrote play an important role in Chinese literature. And there are many well-protected culture relics as well, taking the grand Budala Palace as an example. It is a historical museum as well as an art treasury, where people can share their spirit belief in Buddhism and get artistic entertainment of the carved paintings and the beautifully-written chirographies.
The Tibetan ethnic group is also famous for its strange custom in funeral. Thinking that the soul belongs to the sky after a person dies, they usually put the body on a platform outdoors, spray on it and wait the condors to come to eat the body. In this way, they believe the soul goes up to the sky.
The Tibetan Minority is brimming over with deep emotions. The people there are very zealous and hospitable and they live freely and happily on the spacious grassland. Their history and culture contribute to the diversity of China, so we certainly should protect them and get them popularized and let them receive great respect they deserve.

Protect Environment
高二(3) 徐若兰

Many people are active in fighting against unfair treatment to colored people, women , animals and so on. Right now I am talking about fighting for respect to our environment.
Though the environment doesn’t have a mouth to deprecate what humans have done to her, she retaliates through action. In the early years the Chinese cut down large quantities of trees, at the source of the yellow river, which led to the disappearance of big forests and terrible floods. As a result, the Huangtu plateau which was once covered with grass and forests was turned into barrens that supported fewer plants. Another example was in several developed countries. Because many chemical factories discharged poisonous gas without filtering it, cities were covered with so much poisonous gas that people were killed by the air they breathed in. What horrible scene!
What we are suffering is only a small part of what the nature once suffered. If we don’t take action to show respect to the environment, we will have to face an increasingly awful situation.
Measures should be taken to protect the environment on which we are relying. First governments should forbid destroying vegetation, rivers and lakes, oceans, as and the atmosphere as well. Second voices should be made to announce the public of the importance of protecting the environment. Third enterprises should pay special attention to the effect they have on the environment and work out solutions for the problems.
Only by changing the way we treat the environment can we get along well with it. Only by saving the environment can we save ourselves.

World Peace
2003级 高二(7)班  阮瑶

Iraq is a part of the Middle East next to Iran & Kuwait. It is very important to the rest of the world because of its underground petroleum fields.
It is said that oil is industrial blood and for this reason perhaps the war started.
On September 11,2001,the Twin Towers in New York as well as parts of the Pentagon were destroyed by an airplane planned by terrorists, which made George Bush declared to fight the country’s enemies.
It was said that Iraq still possessed many weapons of mass destruction and weapon inspectors were sent to the country by the UN to find the clues.
Though no evidence was found, America still wanted to go to war with Iraq and the main target is Sadam Hussein. The war was just like the quiet battle between France and China in 1800s.It was said that a relation of Sadam betrayed him.
I think war is not just a matter of two persons or two-family fight. It is related to so many victims’ inrerests . As a leader, one must always think for all the people, so will his country be prosperous for always.

Freedom in my Dream
高二(9)班   李韵

Freedom for many children is the coming day when they could improve myself in their own way to use my 24 hours. They can study language by watching film instead of working on boring grammar and multiple choices. Boys and girls can have enough time to do sports to keep health not going on a diet as a result of junk food and a lack of sports caused by too much homework.
Freedom is as simple as my playing piano all night without worrying about disturbing my 14-year-old neighbour who has to go to school the next day for my house is specially made.
It also could be freedom in my dream that one day, political democracy becomes true. Freedom in my life is the name of all kindness and happiness.
People have common desire under the sun. For mankind, freedom commonly means respect, love, blessing and dignity. For some people, freedom is that some day, he can give up his own interests to guarantee others’ rights. It is no wonder that so many people fought for freedom even didn’t hesitate to give up their lives when necessary .
I would like to be a freedom fighter for human rights some day in future.

A trip to Rio De Janeiro
高二(7)班  李一玮

I love travelling. When I was young, my parents always took me to other places to visit, such as Beijing, Zhuhai and Guilin. But as I grow up, there’s such a heavy study-pressure that I can hardly afford time and energy to travel. Fortunately, I can “travel” to a lot of far-away attractions in the fantastic world of books and TV. Recently I have learnt about Rio De Janeiro from books. I feel excited and want very much to travel there.
Rio De Janeiro lies along the coast of Atlantic Ocean. It’s Brazil’s second largest city. Firstly, I love the climate in Rio De Janeiro. Sea climate is comfortable and it never gets too dry or too wet. Secondly, I love the beautiful beaches. I always form a picture in my mind of being at the seaside. I imagine myself walking on the beach. The sunshine is mild in the late afternoon and I feel the soft wind moving across my face. I can see the sun moving slowly below the sea level, just like a hot, red ball falling into the water. Some seagulls are flying above the sea and others rest themselves on ship-boards. I take off my shoes. Soft sand flows through my toes. Little waves sometimes run towards me and wet my trousers, just like naughty children. I enjoy this feast for both my body and spirit. Now I know that the beauty of nature is the greatest beauty in the world.
Alone, I’m just walking, walking and walking……

Childhood
高二(7)班  余文璨

I always dream about returning to the past. As many people say, childhood is the happiest and easiest time in one’s life.
Children show you their true emotions. They know what is compassion and what is tolerance better than adults. In their world, all real thoughts are presented. They may easily have different opinions with others, but they never understand what is animosity. They enjoy making friends but they never think about making social communication net. Every child talks from the bottom of his heart without evil plans hidden and never intrigues against each other. Only in children’s way can adults make our life simple, more real and more enjoyable.
I wish everyone’s heart would keep as innocent and lovely as they ever did in their childhood. Then, the walls between our hearts can be  broken down and the world would be a better place to live in.

A Big Heart for Life
吴婷,高二12班

I will never forget that moment when I was pressing the buttons on the phone .I was entering a hot line to find out my results in the final examination of junior school. I remember having a hopeful but anxious feeling in my stomach. Kill or cure? The big moment had come. On hearing the voice say "Congratulations! You come top in the exam." I cheered up.”You make it!" I just smiled a big smile to myself. The success really encouraged me a lot.
However, god seemed to have pulled a prank on me. The most depressing just followed the most inspiring success I have achieved. No sooner had I got the good news than I was hit by a serious fever, which made me in bed for a whole week. It was really annoying at the thought of all the joys I missed. If I hadn't been ill, I could have had a good time with my old friends! I also missed the chance to enjoy a party which all my classmates took part in before we fell apart.
What I want to say in the end is that everyone has his day, while everyone must face up to some hardships and pains. Life, as it really is, is always filled with sorrow and joy. Don't get vain when you success. Don’t lose heart when meeting difficulties. Just take it easy and work hard. Life will eventually give you much in return for a big heart.

The Internet
李佳钰,高二5班

The Internet exerts a peculiar fascination on a great many people. Both the old and the youth can enjoy the civilized comforts which modern science brings to us. It really adds color to the dull routine of everyday life.
There is no doubt that for the youth the Internet is an important tool for study. Nothing can be compared with its convenient operation, high speed and varied information resources. As long as you click what you need, you’ll get a large number of information picked out in such a short time. Besides outputting the information, at the same time, yon can input your own works and send them to the Internet. In this way you can have more opportunities to share the tremendous spiritual excitement with the ones who have common goals. By comparison, the youth prefer to spend the long and friendless evenings in front of the computer—it seers to be the only form of entertainment. They have a variety of experiences: from the chat to the love online from the network game to the network crime. Perhaps they have led the cultural trend of the network, and they are the spreader of the Internet culture.
The old, however, sometimes imagine .the Internet to be a sort of place full of mystery. They often failed to understand how the ‘net’ works. One thing is certain, however, they always go into raptures at the mere mention the Internet. They are forever talking with a proud about how skilled their grandsons operate the computer and surf the Internet, or the fantastic the Internet trip they went on their own ----after that, they never forget to list the privilege of modern science one by one, and make a conclusion that how fast the science and technology developed.
No one can avoid being influenced by modern science and technology. Maybe we can use our intelligence to make more discoveries and create more inventions aiming at influencing more people.

Su Shi
何逊梅 高二5班

The Chinese literator and poet Su Shi lived from AD 1037 to 1101. During his life, he created many works. He was perhaps most famous for his poems, but he also wrote many essays and was famous in the officialdom. I admire Su Shi because he has made a great contribution to the literature and was tough even when facing troubles.
In Chinese history, Su Shi, together with his brother Su Zhe and father Su Xun, were all famous and were called Three Sus. But Su Shi’s contribution was the greatest. He not only created wonderful works, but also did many good things for common people when he was an officer. Today, there is still a Su Bank in Hangzhou Province.
Because of Su’s talent, Su was envied and was relegated to Huangzhou, a poor place. Even when Su was there, he didn’t lose his spirit for the life. What’s more, his poems created at that time was even better. Su’s time has past, but his spirit lives forever.
Su Shi, who appears as a star in Song Dynasty, lights up my heart and soul with his great spirit. Whenever I meet difficulties, I can hear him saying, “Be hopeful and powerful, believe you can face the reality!”

The Age of Electricity
徐慰 高二5班

It is certain for we human beings to be proud of our brilliant civilization, which offers us the comfortable life. Our civilization wouldn’t develop so rapidly without the endless stream of great scientific achievements. It is electricity that plays an important role and stands out among these achievements. And we should be grateful to the scientists who had found the way to produce electricity.
In 1831,Faraday, an excellent scientist from England, summed up a law which is called Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. This law tells us how to induct electric current with magnets, Faraday’ law made the book of our history turned to anew page, the age of electricity
The law belongs to the foundation of the Theory of Electromagnetics. The scientist worked in this field for a long time and then brought us today’s life: e-life. It is now easy to find a telephone or a light. Computers also become more and more important and popular. We use electricity in various ways: doing house work, entertaining, having important meetings on the Internet and so on. Imagine this: when watching TV, you find the telephone ranging. So you turned on the light and answer it. It is your cousin who asks about how to use the new soft ware you give him. So you send him an e-mail. All these seems to be too simple and common. But in any of these, electricity is always playing an important role. What if there was no electricity? Full of darkness at night, no internet, no televisions……that would be terrible!
So……
Thanks to the scientists achievements, we can live such a comfortable life. So when you are doing your homework by the lamp, or watching an NBA match or surfing the internet, please say to Faraday and the other scientists in your mind sincerely: Thank you!

Deforestation
高二(13)班   刘瑀瀚

As time goes , there are more and more world problems about nature and development. I think deforestation is the most serious environmental problem that the earth has to face.
With more and more trees cut down, many kinds of birds or animals have no homes and become extinct. Just a few years later, we will no longer be able to see so many lovely and beautiful creatures which once exist.
With more and more trees cut down, lots of good land become deserts. Then the soil will be washed away more easily ,which will eventually lead to floods and draughts .remember the Big Flood that broke out in 1998? Many people become homeless and I will never forget the sad and eager eyes of hundreds of children .But what we should realize is that it is we human beings that has strengthened the power of the flood, for we’ve cut down so many trees near the Changjiang River. The disaster is just a response from nature, as well as a great pain to us.
With more and more trees cut down, the power of the surface of the earth to control the climate is being reduced greatly. The earth's surface temperature is rising little by little and finally cities along the seaside will be greatly affected.
In fact, desertification, global warming and other big problems are all the results of deforestation.
But many of us have not yet been clear enough about the importance of the problem .You may tell me that you yourself are quite aware of it. But do you still use the only-once chopsticks? And always think the paper handkerchiefs are not enough?
So there's a lot we have to change actually.
If you don't want to endanger the next generations and don't want to see an end to our planet, please take action!
Just stop using one more pair of that kind of chopsticks and take along a handkerchief, we can make a big difference. And when you're sure that you will not feel sorry to the environment, and your friends to come with you. The world belongs to all of us and we all have responsibility to make it better. If every one does make a little contribution to the environment. I believe a bright future of the planet will come soon.

The Story of Dr. Frankenstein
高二(13)班 翁逸琴

When I was a child,I always dreamt of finding out the secret of various phenomena in the world.
After entering the university,  I pioneered a way to explore the cause of life.  At last, I found the way to create life, and after a long time of hard work, I succeeded in creating a being, which was more like a monster than a man.
When he opened his eyes, it seemed that he was very hungry, as he started to search my laboratory and tried to find something to eat.
I was scared to death when he rested his eyes on me. “Oh dear, I’m not his food. Who can save me! ” I thought. But nobody came to help me.
He came up to me directly. I felt as if Death were waving his hands to me. Suddenly I heard a strange sound that was just like a crack of a bone. At the same time he stopped——he fell to the ground.
Exactly it was I myself who saved me. I made a mistake when putting the bones into the big man’s left leg.
Before he could stand up, I raised the gun and killed him without hesitation. I knew very well that if I hadn’t killed him I would have been killed.
It was lucky that my creation was not a perfect one. After all, that was my first creation. Maybe, I should create a gentleman next time.

An unforgettable experience
高二(13)班 郭之天

My mom used to say that I was born to swim. But the truth is that I didn’t know how to swim until the last year of my primary school!
Mom always said that I could swim in the basin when I was only two months old. I was surprised at the amazing fact. If this was true, then why was I afraid of water? I went to swim every summer, but I didn’t make a little progress. I was worried and blamed myself several times. When I watched people swimming freely, how I wished I had learnt to swim!
The story of how I learnt to swim is dramatic. One hot summer afternoon, my father and I went to the swimming pool to swim. While my father was changing his clothes, I was roaming along the bank of the pool. Suddenly I heard a voice, “Look out!” and then came a big noise and beautiful splashes. Just when I was admiring the swimmer’s skills, I slipped into the pool! I was so afraid that I shouted at once! But the water kept coming towards me and I drank a lot of it. I was moving upside down and trying to reach the bank. I was struggling very hard to keep my head above the water.
A minute was like a hundred years to me. To my surprise, I was able to keep the style! Just then, my father, saw me and he seemed to be shocked. He then said, “Calm down, just wave your arms and legs like this. Right!” And I got it! I finally learnt to swim! You can’t imagine how happy I was and I wanted to jump for joy!
From this unforgettable experience I learnt that one’s power is unlimited. Sometimes you could show that power in an emergency. If you believe that, you will discover the power lying within yourself and achieve your goals. And one has to stay calm when it’s dangerous. To calm down helps you to think clearly and make the best decision for you. That’s what I have learnt from the experience.

Never Be Lost in Your Dream
——After Reading <Madame Bovary>
Class Eight Grade Two Sun Yang

The most unforgettable experience of my life
高二(16)  陈宇慧

As a student ,I don’t have any great event to talk about ,but here I want to share my experience of preparing for the high school entrance examination.
During the first three years of junior school ,we were very happy and free .But we often heard that Grade 4 would be a hell. After the final exam of Grade 3 in June, everything blew onto our faces : teachers’ changing , harder and harder texts , terrible pressure and of course the graduate exam .Where your position was on the listboard became the most important thing in our life .We had to study hard day and night ,always from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. the next day.
But I must say that it’s really an unforgettable memory in my life. Under the pressure we lived our life to the fullest, and enjoyed the true interesting things that we may have never cared before. Grade 4 in junior school was a turning point in my life. My attitude to learning, my world outlook and my philosophy of life all changed. I turned to be positive and strong. I also gained many people’s true & pure friendship, both teachers ’ and classmates’. In some way, I like that kind of life, as it taught me many things I’d never learned before.
Teachers also helped me a lot. I still can’t forget that my history teacher talked to me until 10:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2003, for my application. My head teacher also encouraged me, so did my Chinese teacher. I should say, all my teachers worked very hard and always neglected their sleep and meals. Even if some of them were about 50 and often fell ill, they never left us one day .
The last and greatest challenge was of course the final exam, also my high school entrance exam. I felt very well and comfortable except my chemistry  physics exams. The result proved that I couldn’t have done worse in them. But in total, my mark is O.K. So then I became a student in the best high school of Hubei Province.
We, teachers and students, got together in East Lake Hotel on June 4th, 2003. At the moment of saying goodbye, I felt that my time of junior had gone ,and my senior time was coming .
Today, I looked at my graduate photos again ,and ,I smiled .
He once hesitated ,struggled, feared and doubted, like an ordinary man would do. But he just "stays at the door of fate", as the name of his newly-written book says, and waits till the door opens instead of leaving during the half way. Then there comes a wholly new world where the beautiful dream lies .

The World of Tagore
Class8 Grade2   Fu Shuting
Stray birds of summer come to my window to sing and fly away
And yellow leaves of autumn, which have no songs, flutter and fall there with a sign
                                            ——Rabindranarath Tagore

No matter when I open the book of Rabindranath Tagore, and no matter which page I turn to, I’ll always start reading joyfully. Then I shall fall into the world of Tagore. That’s a colourful world full of vitality, happiness, brightness and love.
He praised all living things——animals, plants, flowing water and the sky. He treats those beautiful creatures as little babies.
Now the flowers are in high bloom
And I call, "Come back, my darling. The children gather and scatter flowers in reckless sport. And if you come and take one little blossom no one will miss it."

He liked to express his happiness to everybody, the happiness that makes the ocean and the grassland joy, the happiness that let the twins of birth and death dance together, the happiness that shocks all the living beings with storms and laughers, the happiness that quietly sits on a blooming red lotus with tears in eyes, the happiness that leaves the whole world behind. I love the feeling of his happiness.
In the gusty night when the rain patters on the leaves
You will hear my whisper in your bed, and my laughter will flash
With the lightning through the open window into your room.

He sang for love with all his heart. Love, without doubt, is a forever subject.
The world puts off its mask of vastness to its lover
It becomes small as one song, as one kiss of the eternal

He was a famous scholar, poet and writer. He was the first Asian who won the Nobel Prize. But he was very strict with himself. In Tagore’s poems we can always find words telling us to save time and receive knowledge as much as possible. I think that’s why he could get such great success.
Those that used to play are playing still, so spendthrift is life

Reading these words, our hearts will fly across the deep blue sky as we have wings. We’ll have a feeling of success; the sadness deep in our minds will be wiped away by Tagore’s happy wind.
Why not live like that? Why not accept the happiness that gives us the power to live a better life? We need to read Tagore.
Who can keep the pen of art and a faithful heart like a child? Who can describe the wonderful scene that children’s sleep was stolen? Only Tagore! Forever Tagore!
Now, words are extra. All we should do is quietly step into the Palace of Tagore .Let us listen.

The paradise of water
高二(16)  何珊珊
If you had ever been to Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan Province, you would have considered it a paradise of water. Last summer I went there and enjoyed the breath-taking scenery.
Jiuzhaigou, which is known for the beautiful lakes and waterfalls, lies peaceful and quiet in the southeast of Sichuan Province. When you are visiting this water paradise, you must be amazed by the water which is colorful and clean. Lakes can be seen everywhere, and the number of them is really great. Most of them are small but beautiful. These lakes are to Jiuzhaigou what pearls are to a necklace.
All the lakes look like green gems, and they all have special names such as Panda Lake, Bamboo Lake and so on. For tourists the Five-color Lake is a must-see because it treats visitors to all the colors of the rainbow. The water in this lake looks colorful, and those incredible colors will make you feel that you are in a fantastic dream.
While you are there, keep an eye out for the waterfalls. They are not very great, but they are much more beautiful.
Isn’t it a beautiful water world which makes you feel comfortable and fit? So if you have got tired of busy life, maybe a trip to Jiuzhaigou will make you relaxed, and you are sure to enjoy yourself .

Mother’s Day
高三(4)班 张奕
Mother’s Day is a holiday when children honor their mothers with cards, gifts and flowers. In many countries, such as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia and the US, people celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May while many other countries of the world celebrate their own Mother’s day at different times through out the year.
One of the best ways to celebrate Mother’s Day is to give your mom the day off. Let her relax with the rest of the family doing all the housework. Usually, dad and the kids will let mom sleep late that morning as they go into the kitchen to prepare her favourite breakfast. Never forget to place a vase with a single flower on the table beside the food. The kids can pick up the flower from the garden or buy one from the shop. Arrange everything nicely before mom wakes up. Some families will carry the food and mom’s favourite sections from the newspaper to her bedroom so that mom can have breakfast in bed. Presents and cards from the kids can be handed to mom by themselves or just placed on the dining table.
After breakfast, go anywhere mom likes to go. Shopping, swimming or going on a picnic in the garden. Make a special Mother’s Day dinner or take mom out for a great meal in a famous restaurant she loves most.
Anyway ,let mom enjoy the whole day and feel your love, and then the Mother’s Day can be a good one. As Mother’s Day is around the corner, it’s time to take actions!

Tasting of reading in English
高二8班   Ke Cangming
I often read western novels, and of course it has already been translated into Chinese. I didn’t think there were a lot differences between English novels and Chinese novels. But during this winter holiday I read some novels in English and I found them very interesting. Why did not I find that before? As I did not want to spend a lot time in studying----- I always thought reading in English is a kind of studying ----- when I want to read some novels from England I would prefer to read the ones translated into Chinese. As we all know, translating can never be perfect, it would bring some mistakes and the translator’s own feelings. So when I read a novel in English, I found it was terrific and I could clearly know the difference between the two writing skills.
As to most of the English novels, they prefer to tell the result first. Even in some paragraphs that describe the scene, they would use the skill. This situation would never be met in reading Chinese novels. We Chinese like to make attractive plot: after the readers have been brought into the story the writer would say “If you want to know what will happen in the end read the next chapter please.”
When we read the novels in English, we would be tired of the scene describing. There is a great number of scene describing in English novels. They use this skill to make the readers know how the characters feel at the moment. They prefer to describe the situation using special grammar and combined words. It does not go with the language usage and it is difficult for translators to translate it into Chinese without losing the feelings which the writer wanted us to know. For example, in the book “Jane Eyre” there were a great many situations telling how Jane felt at time. It can be felt easily when we read the book in English but it was terrible when we read the Chinese edition. It was not only long but also can tell nothing to us about the character’s feeling. That was because of the different language customs. The translators can only translate the words and they cannot translate the special grammar and the combination of the sentences. For example, there is an English sentence “I hear the laughter, I taste the tear”. When we read the sentence we could have a strong feeling about what the writer wanted to tell us but none of us could translate it into Chinese without losing the feeling.
This time when I read novels in English I found it was not so terrible to read the long describing. The novels did not change but I did. And I find no matter how clear I knew the novels when I read it in Chinese the next time when I read English it will be a different feeling.
One language is different from another. The result of this is that we have so beautiful a world.

Take your time
高三(4)班 丁雪梅
For thousands of years, animals have trodden a slow path, their spirits together with the body. But our human being’s transportation is too fast. The body moves but the soul is left behind. We try to free ourselves in convenience, but we only imprison the soul. Since we invented how to count hours, we do everything to short the time, short the deadline. But the time saved can’t be shorten. Nowadays, we spend lots of time staying in front of a TV just changing the channels, while we have no time to talk with a good friend or play with our family. We have plenty of time to search old news on the internet, while we hardly think about our life. In the end, the only thing apparent is our loneliness.
Take your time, please. Try to follow the natural steps and have your own clock. Try to share your time with everybody you love, share your mind, your happiness and sadness. Try to read the world we live in, do not only catch a quick glimpse at the society.
Someday, when we know how to spend every second in our life, we can then live our own life.

A TWE essay: Games for adults or not
高二(2)王 游
When faced with the decision of whether games are as important for adults as they are for children, quite a few would claim that games are less important for adults, but others, in contrast, deem the viewpoint that the games are also significant for adults their view and that is also my conclusion. As far as I’m concerned with it, I’ve three points to illustrate my view as follows.
First, in today’s more and more fierce competition, most people lead a hectic life style, and have no time for recreation, Games, however, provide them with a favorable chance to relax and plunge into a fervor of happiness as they did in their childhood. Adults, with the help of games, can easily restore their spirits and souls, which are the vital sections of a competitive ability. In this way, adults, moreover, will not only benefit from their leisure time in relaxing, but also get a way to improve their qualities to compete. So we can simply draw a conclusion from the reason I’ve just outlined: Games are essential for adults in restoring their energy.
Secondly, if an adult plays a carefully chosen game, which is comparatively more useful for training his mind, a metamorphosis will occur in his mental degree. Some games, known to all, are designed for pondering as well as for fun. With the effects of these games, intellectual coaching is occurring during the hours when you’re absorbed in the game. In such a substantial influence, one will undoubtedly obtain mammoth progresses in his speed to solve the massive problems and in his confidence to crack obstacles. So we can regard games as a teacher, who teaches us extra knowledge providing us with a considerable benefit.
Thirdly, what would happen if an adult never play games, which he once appreciated foremost in his childhood? The answer is incredible. Because he, without the help of a game, will always fail to relax himself from the tights schedules, and will not be able to get an access to a state of up grading his mental post. In the bottom of his heart, life is a tedious, endless and helpless journey.
If he, at that moment, just a little but enjoys a game, a vicissitudes turns out to be viable. To conclude in one sentence: A life without games is devastation to this magnificent world.
Among the three reasons I outline lies a general principle: Games are not the unique patents for children, and they, on the contrary, will always be precious for adults.

An easy but difficult choice
高二(11)班  伍悦
Along with the rapid step of science development, men have got more and more achievements. Especially in biological field, scientists are creating miracles every minute. In recent years, they are decoded “the gene code” of human being. People all over the world are astonished and excited. However, at the same time, it evokes many things which we should and must think carefully.
What’s gene? I think we should know sometimes about DNA first. DNA is short for deoxyribonucleic nucleic acid. It’s the most important heredity substance in our bodies, which almost decides all the shape and properties. On it are there thousands of genes arranged in sequence. Each of them carries a genetic message that decides your appearance, intelligence or any other character. So there’s no doubt  that decoding the gene code will do an great effect on us and has a profound and far-reaching meaning.
This scientific fruit would absolutely bring some advantages. If it was in use, agriculture would benefit from it a lot. The output of crop would increase. They could resist all kinds of diseases and have a strong ability of disaster-proteeting. Animals may be safe because scientists can continue a plant by genetic optimization or cloning when it is in danger. For humans, it will contribute to medicine. Hereditary diseases reduces a lot. Many incurable diseases can be treated. We will enjoy our lives without pain.
Thus we live longer naturally. Then the population of the earth increases rapidly. This would cause the danger of resource. In nowadays, freshwater, coal, petroleum are not enough yet. How does our fragile planet under take such a great need? At that time, a good many people will suffer poverty, starvation, diseases, etc. It could even cause the third World-War.
In addition to the war, we’re faced many other problems. The simplest thing is that how the target distribute. Who can decide it? Is the achievement first used on scientists or stars? Is it appreciated by nobles or tested on civilians? So simple a thing is so hard to solve.
If we were to reform our genes for same reason, it might cause the disorder of(基因库). It would lead to serious aftereffects. For example, some new diseases will come and they may be incurable as cancer. Nobody can control at that time.
Contemporary society has many kinds of discrimination. Discrimination of religion belief, ethnic, or (弱势群体) is harmful to the liberty of the world. Imagine that if you were a manager of a company, and you were choosing an assistant, from a crowd of people. You master everyone’s genes. Who will be lucky enough to be chosen? Mostly, the cleverest one. Therefore, a man who has ordinary IQ will be hard to live. This situation can be called genetic discrimination. Of course, it’s bad to the stability of society.
What’s worse, if some terrorists mastered this technology, what our world be? They might regard the technology as a weapon, which could destroy human beings and ruin the earth. We would be under the control of evil power and live with pain forever.
In the end, I want to say that I’m not sensationalizing it. It’s a real choice we have to make. Science or Liberty? It seems a easy thing but humans are curious and want to explore by nature. If we want to enjoy our life and appreciate our homeland, we must calm down, forbear our strong desire. Don’t forget that we’re never the overlord of our planet, but only the quests of the earth.

Every day is a gift from God
高二(11)班    张梦洁
What’s life? Many people spend all their time searching for the answer.
Life would be a paradise everyone dreams of; Life would be full of happiness and mysteries; Life would be valuable treasure.
But what about the life we’re living now?
We spend too reckless, laugh too little , get angry too quickly, stand up too late, getup too tired. We have multiply our possessions, but reduce our values. We talk too much , laugh too little and lie too often. We’ve learnt how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to life, not life to years.
So we get more and more tired. Even a small failure can break us down. It’s time to change our minds.
The rabbis of old put it this way: “A man comes to this world with his first clenched, but, when he dies, his hand is open.” The art of  living is to know when to hold fast and when to let go. For life is a paradox: it enjoin us to cling to it many gifts even while it ordains their eventual relinquishment.
Hold fast to life, but not so fast that you can’t let go. By always chasing after new goals, we’re never really appreciating what we already have right now. When I walked in the street one day, the sunlight hit me. Hoe beautiful it was, how warming, how sparking, how brilliant! I looked around to see if anyone else relished the sun’s gold glow, but everyone was going to or fro, most with eyes fixed on the ground. The I realize most of us, have been in different to the grandeur of each day, too preoccupied with petty and sometimes even meaningless concerns. At that moment, I came to know life’s gifts are precious---but we’re too heedless of them.
Surely we must hold fast to life, for it’s wonderful and full of beauties. We know that is so, but often we recognize this truth, only in our backward glance when we remember what was, and then realize that is no more.
We remember a beauty that faded, a love that waned. But we remember with far great pain that we didn’t see that beauty when it flowered, that we fail to respond with love when it was tendered. Don’t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you’ve been, but also where you’re going. Life is not a race, but a journey to be enjoyed slowly each step of the way. Dream what you want to dream, go where you what to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do. The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the most everything that comes along their ways.
Never too busy for the wonder and the owe of life. Be reverent before each day. Embrace each hour. Seize each golden minute.
Every morning when we open our eyes, we tell ourselves that it is special. Every day, every minute, every breath, truly is a gift from gold.

Tolerance Is the Best Medicine
高二(2)杨 燕
What is tolerance? It is the consequence of humanity. We are all formed of frailty and error; let us forgive reciprocally each other’s folly. That is the first law of nature.
When you cut your finger, the life can tolerate you, it can start the patch work immediately, and lets the new cell rejoin one by one in the wounded place; if you have eaten rotten food by mistake, the life can tolerate you, lets you put out food to protect you; if your hand burnt, it can reduce the edema, and increase blood current capacity in other to let along new foods come into the skin, organization and new cell.
The tolerance is the key to obtain safety and health. If you want the health and happiness, you must tolerate everybody who hurts you. If you can’t first tolerate the others, you can’t truly tolerate yourself. Refusing to tolerate the others means arrogance and ignorance.
No matter what we do, we are always involved with other people, whether we ant to be or not. What we do even alone is affected by other people. From the day we are born, other people touch our lives in almost everything we do.
It’s not just other people who affect us. We affect them as well. Think of that shoes in sports. You may by shoes because you have sports so often. You may buy a back pack to carry clothes and other year. By buying these things, you and other sportsmen help to boost business. You help make jobs for shoes makers, salespeople, and many others. And, if you speak loudly, you may spoil someone else’s peace and quiet. If you leave litter, you will spoil the natural beauty of the area.
It is true that we all depend on other people and that we all want to be happy and get on with one another in harmony. Never the less, things are not always what we wish them to be. We might have some friction with a member of the family or a quarrel with someone in the neighbourhood. We might get cross with classmates or teachers. We might break relations with our close or distant relatives or break ties with our close friends.
If one of these does happen, please remember to keep calm and not to fly into a range at little things. You should not hurt other people’s feeling in an attempt to abate your own anger, otherwise, you will aggravate the friction and do harm to your future relationship with the person you are in trouble with, thus, putting yourself in a spot. If you happen to have friction with someone around you, try to have a heart-to-heart talk with him in a peaceful mood. This does not infer that you are going to eat dirt, unless your “opponent” is really hostile.
In face of unhappy meets, you don’t have to be misanthropic or to drive yourself to despair. You should be, on the contrary, kind and confident, for there’s always a profusion of chances for you to be better understood and to improve your relationship with other people. If, on the other hand, you become revengeful and adopt a tit-for-tat policy, or use ungenerous remarks to plan a counterattack, you will find yourself in more trouble, because evils come back.
Of course, nobody fancies eating dirt. But revenge does not contribute to a balanced mind. What you say or do should always be rational, otherwise, you could bite your tongue off later on. If goes without saying that you will have no worries if you are easy-going and become contumacious, you are bound to suffer heavy losses or at least make yourself unpopular, which will again bring you a lot of stress.
Successful people seldom contradict others unless in a life-or-death struggle. They know how to swim with the tide and tailor their words to the tastes of other fellows. They will say things in season and do things in moderation. They are extraordinary at adapting themselves to the surroundings and good at pleasing the ears of other people. However, some people are short-sighted and are too unwilling to please others. In the end, they will only succeed in separating themselves and making themselves unpopular. This is certainly not what they wish. So, if you want to live a happy life, try to be nice, try to be humane, try to be tolerant and easy-going. You can’t find love and understanding before you love and understand others.

The  colours  of  “Miracle”
高二(11)班  刘迪
Many people think that miracle is something that seldom happens; it’s something that ordinary people can’t achieve. They admire Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player in the world by now; or Armstrong, the six-time champion of the Tour de France who successfully overcomes the terrible cancer. Yes, their careers are really incredible! But have you ever notice that they live simple life like us; they work hard every day like us; they face failures and victories like us; they cry, laugh like us? The only different thing is that they show the results of efforts in public. We every action man in the world is just the same essentially. Once you live your life to the fullest, you have shown your own personality , then you’re extraordinary to others.
Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that’ll never be again. So, what should we say to ourselves? We should say: “Do you know what you’re? You’re a miracle. You’re unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another one like you. You legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move”. Well, hurry up, my friends, from now on try to be the best you could be!

M=Master
Every man is the architect of his own fortune. On your way to a brilliant life, you first need to learn something new constantly. For us, students, trying to get on well with all the subjects is quite realistic. Sometimes we get confused, because the school life described in some novels, articles is comparably different, which is exciting, full of ease. But after all, it’s partially imaginary. We complain that chemistry formulas, physical phenomena, and lists of English words are dull. We exclaim in our innermost that we want to live the life we love. But still, everything remains the same. Why don’t you think about the problem with another attitude. The proverb “Never to old to learn” is known to most people. As competition in the society is getting fiercer and fiercer, we can’t stand firm, find a job, meet the principal needs of our family without abundant knowledge. Maybe we sacrifice our most beautiful years to lock ourselves in a room filled with books. But some day you’ll have your bright future thanks to such hardships. If  you relate every  “suffering” to your prospect, you’ll probably find yourself full of strength.
No pains, no gains. Master every lesson you can learn in front. Master morals we should remember in different situations. Master your mind so that you could be calm and reasonable when settling any coming obstruction.

 I=Independence
Day after day, we’re gradually building a world of our own the moment we’re born, from the first call “Mum” to the first step you made by yourself. Independence is of importance, because our friends, parents, teachers can’t help us all the time. Usually, teenagers have a strong feeling of asking for independence in a certain period of time, during which we want to be unique. We resist to accept others’ help and care. We are eager to protest against all the traditional restrictions…. In a word, we wish to fly with our wings that aren’t plump at all. After several years, when I recall the experience, I find myself ignorant. It’s only an impulse, but can’t be called independence. Independence, not only means the wealth of materials, but also means the reliance on yourself in spirit. In daily life, we think in our own way, we settle difficulties with our own methods, and improve them if necessary. In my opinion, independence is a mature life-system that can help us live as easy and nice as we can.

R=Relaxation
Even though the world is similar every hour, every day. Even though the burden on our shoulders is hard to stand, we’d better be good to ourselves. Under the dark pressure, we’re easy to assume the worst. Sometimes the world appears grey, indifferent and even evil in our blue eyes. However, it’s not nearly that bad. In fact, we’re easy to get satisfied. Hardships never ramble anywhere. Happiness comes through the door you didn’t know you left open. What we need are quite simple. We like a gentle breeze, which blows slightly, getting our hairs to float in the air. We like clear stars, blinking their eyes against the velvet darkblue curtain, telling us an ancient legend.
We like the setting sun hidden behind masses of scarlet clouds, creating the last beauty of  a day…So don’t be pessimistic when you’re sad or tired, raise your head, and take a look at the babyblue sky. It’s so wide as if can put up with everything. Sky is also like a man, if we compare various weather to different moods. Sunny days are smiles, rainy or windy days may be sadness. But the sky never frowns, on the contrary, he stays calm, letting the unhappy things passing and the pleasant moments kept in mind. Sky is broad-minded, because sorrow never lasts forever, and no life lives for depression.
As above, when we rest properly, we can also learn something that isn’t written on paper. Widen your heart, and adjust your mood, then you’ll find every day is fresh.

A--Abandon
Life is like a roundabout river. There’s no doubt that we must make some unwilling choices. At the crossing road of life, we should learn to abandon. Since every little choice can change your orbit, we should be conscious enough to know what we want, not only what we have in hand. A wise man is always creating his opportunity rather than wait for it. Deciding which road to go is the moment either making a leap forward, or leading you into an endless marsh. Sometimes we must give up our interest to pick up something we don’t really like; or we must abandon an easy road to join in wretched sufferings. But never lose your heart. Whatever you choose, no matter how nice or hard it is, the things you learn after the decision are something you’ll never learn on any other road.

C=Courage
Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is a sorrow, overcome it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Sometimes we feel that obligations are like burden, so heavy on our back.; pressure is like the overcast sky, hanging over head; death and loss are like a dark cave, and we go deeper and deeper, hard to breathe. But on the other hand, only when we’re cornered can we be the strongest man we’ve never been before.
Courage isn’t an impulse, motivating us to achieve things others dares not to do. That may lead you to be a criminal, a thief, or a person who be addicted to drugs.
There’s a story. Once a monk arranged a boxing match between a child and an experienced boxer. Each time the fighter stuck the boy, he fell down, but at once the boy stood up. “What ashame,” the boy’s father said. “I never thought he could be so easily knocked down..” But the monk said: “I’m sorry that’s all you see. Don’t you see that each time he falls down, he stand up again instead of crying? That’s the kind of courage you want him to have.”
Courage is a strength that you can refresh even after a great defeat. Courage is a power that though getting hurt, but you still stand up to run. Courage is a spirit you face everything even thought knowing it’s hard to overcome.
If each time you’re knocked down, you have the courage to stand up again, then you can be proud of yourself.

L=Love
I find a comparison of life to the warm sunshine quite proper. The sun scatters sunlight, making it everywhere. Love is here everywhere. It grows when spring comes, develops when summer arrives, become ripe when fallen leaves float in the cool winds, and turns into flicking flame when cold winter approaches.
Everyone needs love, and everyone is wroth loving. Love lies in a hot glass of milk mother put on your desk. Love lies behind a common “Happy birthday” or a sincere blessing. Love comes out of a simple smile….There’re many people we care and care us. The fast way to lose love is to hold on it tight, and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
Love is giving. Love is living. Love is taking someone’s load. Love helps them along the road. Love is caring. Love is sharing. Love will seek the best for others. Love treats everyone like brother.

E=Ending…..
Ending….. In fact, there’s no ending of mastering, independence, abandoning, courage, and love. Miracle comes after the complete experiences of life. We’re unique. We’re the one and the only in the world. In the end:
I wish you enough sun the keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joy in life appears much bigger. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final goodbye.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allows us to go through our life without any obstacle, it would crippled us. We wouldn’t be as strong as we could be. And we could never fly.
Life is life, taste it. Have a good day, have a marvelous life, struggle a little if you need to….The fly!

I Love this Game
高三(10)班 邱一帛
Everyone has many teachers during the school time. But there is one which is best among them always staying with you. That is interest.
Interest can be a very good teacher. It guides you to discover things you are interested in and explore the mysteries of some amazing thing. When your teacher asks you to learn something, you are forced to, not active. But if you are interested in something, you will be glad to study it. You will search the Internet to find information or ask someone who knows something about it. You will try your best analyze it and understand it. Doing so always has a good effect on yourself.
The famous basketball player, Michael Jordan once said: “I love this game.” When asked why he could get great achievements in basketball. Interest became the teacher of Jordan. The love of basketball took him into the glory of success.
Rooted in everyone’s heart, interest is not far away from us. What’s the most important is how you take it. Our hearts are many wireless stations, the more you receive messages sent by interest, and the more successful you will be.

You can’t be an Apple Loved by All People
高三(10)班 王笑犁
An attractive apple got ripe and loved by many people. It happened to meet an old man on the street one day. “Do you love me?” it asked with the most charming smile.
  “No.” answered the old man.
“Have you never heard of the saying ‘one apple a day, keep the doctor away from me’?”
“I don’t care. Because I don’t like your taste at all.”
  The apple got disappointed.
Yes! As an apple, even the best one in the world, can’t be loved by everybody. Everyone has its own taste and things can change at any second. Sometimes we feel down for not accepted by others. “Perhaps I’m not that perfect yet”, we begin to blame ourselves, getting more and more frustrated. That’s cruel. It’s not your fault not to be appreciated. Many people walk in and out of your life, but very few will leave footprints in your heart. You can’t be 100% perfect, anyway, and you don’t have to be.
Remember, don’t set your goals by what other people consider important. You can’t be an apple loved by all people. All that you can do is trying to be the best apple and letting others do the judging.

The Key to Success
高三(10)班 肖洁

Everyone gets the itch to succeed, but only part of them can make their dreams come true. You maybe wonder: what is the key to success? The answer is “To keep the desire to learn”.
Keep the desire to learn, and you will never be satisfied with what you have known. Always keep a curious mind to all the mysterious parts of the world. Keep the desire to learn, and whatever difficulties you face, the strong belief will support you in solving the problems. Keep the desire to learn, just as Ms Curie puts it: “Nothing in the world is to be feared, it is only to be understand.” So everything is possible if we try our best and never give up.
One who does not have the desire to learn will never reach their goals. They are always shortsighted and are easily be satisfied with the very little thing they have known. In fact, knowledge, just like the ocean, never has a rim. Whenever and wherever you are, you should remember: what you are learning is only the surface.
In a word, always keep the desire to learn, and the door of success will open to you one day.

Most beautiful in a Mirror
高三(10)班 周瑞雪

When facing a mirror, how do you feel? Proud? Satisfied? Or sad? In fact, most people look the most beautiful just when looking at themselves in the mirror. It is probably because everyone wishes to be flattered, especially by a “fair” mirror. That the reflections in the mirrors show their beauty makes them feel comfortable.
So a suggestion has been given: “Smile to a mirror when you feel lonely.” Of course, if you are really smiling to your heart, you will be glad to enjoy your look, even the spots on it, which are regarded as your own characters. Now, one’s look depends on one’s heart, though at the same time, the mirrors unfair. The spots, however, will not go away unless you clear them. Flattery is never true, it must prevent you from improving yourself. In the end, I would like to say: Let the mirror put its finger on your weak spot, then you may be the most beautiful in the fair life.

CHINA,  MY  MOTHERLAND
高二(一)班 胡禾丰

China, my motherland, is really a great country.
It stands in Asia and lies on the west coast of the ocean. China covers 9,600,000square kilometers. People of about 1.3billion live and work together on the land.56 nations make up the whole population of China.
As is know to anybody, China has a long history of 5000 years, which turns out rich culture and special style. It’s said that every corner of Chinese ancient history was filled with varieties of prominent art works. All this influences people here by giving them a lot of feelings, experiences, images and ideas about life. But China also had a troubled past since 1840. She saw a lot: Xinghai Revolution against feudal dynasty in 1911,the anti—Japanese war during 1937—1945, the civil war broken out in 1946.Most big events brought pains, poverty to Chinese people, but they never gave in . Oppositely, people learnt not to weep when faced the hardship. They were taught to be strong enough to solve each problem. It’s the troubled time that create the valuable character for Chinese people. Finally they were succeed in rebuilding and developing the motherland.
China was founded as an independent country named People’s Republic of China in 1949 .  After that, it began to its door to the world and built bridges of friendship with many other countries. Since then, China set its steps of fast development on all the sides, especially in the field of science and technology. We can say that new Chinese history is filled with great achievements. To exploring space, the CSA has developed the highly successful Long March rocket series. At present the scientists are preparing for the nation’s first manned space flight flying to the moon. In the field of genetic research, China also plays an important role. In 2000,our scientists have announced that they completed the their part of the international human genome project.
Up to now, China has all the way received more and more attentions from the whole world. She is showing its great changes to the world and becomes active on the big stage of the world. Surely she’ll have a better future.

Is the Internet Dangerous to Children?
高二(14)班  陶立早

As far as I know, nowadays many schools don’t like their students to surf on the Internet. Even more parents think of the Internet as a bad influence in their children’s lives, which is all because there are many examples of students who have given up their studies or even become bad as a result of having got into the habit of surfing on the Internet.
From my point of view, the Internet is not dangerous to children. Generally speaking, the major reasons of my opinion can be listed as follows. To begin with, the Internet plays a very important role in the modernization of our world. In a word,if we cannot use the Internet,we cannot keep up with the pace of the E-time. In the second place, the Internet can help us a lot in our work and studies if properly used. Last but not the least, the Internet can entertain us with funny stories, games, literature and so on as relaxation, thus we can combine study with joy. On the basis of those facts above,we can reach the conclusion that the Internet is not dangerous to children.
In my view,I suggest that parents should install software in particular to prevent children from porn webs and lewd language. And I hope there will be more and more children making the most of the Internet, for the Internet is a historic dynamic, revolutionary force.
