When I graduated from junior school in 1997.1 decided to go to high school. My mum told me that if I were to get into high school one of my legs would be in university. This sentence has given me the inspiration to work hard during my high school life. Though sometimes I also feel a little tired,! have no regrets. It is my own choice because I want to be a college student. If I were a college student, the first thing facing me would be to choose my major. I want to study economics as I want to be a business woman in the future. If I were a college student majoring in economics, first I would try to improve my ability. Actually, I have practised a lot during the past few years through doing my class work. I thank my teachers very much, because they have given me so many chances. If I could enter university, I would grasp more opportuni-ties, take part in more activities, go on practising and try to be a student who has ability to organize and to use what he has learnt. The second, I think, should be personality. Business requires people who has a good personality, and who knows how to com-municate with others. In a letter to me, my American friend wrote, "When you interact with people, you should always re-member to find the good in people first, and always take a positive approach to relationships. No one is perfect. You'll eventually find some bad or not so good features about people. If you can try to help them improve in the things that they are not so good at". I was very moved when I read this. It is like a principle for life and I will try my best to do as he has instructed. Apart from ability and personality, I think the most impor-tant thing should be knowledge. Today, business competition is a competition involving science and technology. No knowledge, no standing room; no skill, no success! If I could be an student major-ing in economics,! would study hard, read more books and obtain more knowledge to broaden my mind. Anyway, I'm still a Senior Two student. I still have about two years to go. Two years later,! hope that I don't need to say "if I were a college student". Instead I wish to be able to say"! am a college student". I am a confident girl and I always tell myself, "Irene, you can".
